The album has several versions of Dvorak 's "Largo" (performed by the likes of the Chieftains and Garth Hudson of the Band) which separate the groups of songs; it was Dvorak 's trip to the New World that inspired Largo. The album has been completely out of print for years, but Roger Daltrey (who performs "Freedom Ride" and "Gimmie a Stone" live) pressured online retailers to provide a digital option.8/

Largo is a various-artists concept album inspired by classical composer Dvorak's 9th symphony. The project was initiated, assembled, and produced by Rick Chertoff, Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian, respectively producer and singer/multi-instrumentalists with the heavily The Band-influenced group The Hooters.

The other notable entry from The Band is Garth Hudson's take on the theme, "Garth Largo,." scored for synths and keyboards, accordions and a gang of saxophones from bass to alto. It's a romantic vision, a dark Disney sound with wispy voices and bluesy undertones. There's a few weak spots. Cyndi Lauper cannot sing the blues.

I love this CD. It is really relaxing and helps you wind down at the end of a busy day. Every time I play this CD my dog recognizes to settle down and just chill. I love it, and I am glad that the producer focused on the most recognizable and relaxing sonnets so a beginner in classical music can appreciate and hear the music and just relax/5(13).
